Testing the Hypothesis, Part 1

Opportunity: Data security is a serious issue in America and even around the world with all the advanced technology. This leads to an opportunity as entrepreneur to develop a device that can counter-act these issues.

The Who: Anybody or organization that is having issues with their technology getting comprised by outside users.

The What: Companies are unable to keep their data stored in their software systems private with all the capable hackers in the world.

The Why: With technology advancing everyday people want to find a way to keep their information private and secure.

Hypothesis

Testing the who: This is a shared need; this opportunity hackers don’t discriminate between personal and business security software’s. This means there is opportunity to upgrade all the devices security software’s to help better counter-act cyber-attacks.

Testing the what: Many individuals or business get their software program hacked all the time, giving up vital information to someone who is not authorized to access the files.

Testing the Why: The why stands true for about anybody who uses technology regularly in daily life. Anybody can get hacked as mentioned earlier, so better to be safe than sorry. If we can figure out a software that will keep everyone’s stuff private it will become a lucrative tool and want of for many people.

Interview

#1: Jon 20, Male

 When discussing the opportunity with one of my pledge brothers this weekend, he says he agrees that this is a great opportunity to capitalize on. He has his bank account hack twice; he has to take drastic measures to make sure that doesn’t happen again. After speaking with him this is just becomes another great example of why I want to make privacy software for all types of devices.

#2: Naieva 21, Female

I spoke with a young lady in my class also about the matter, she said her company she works at goes through cyber-attacks all the time leaving them to constantly update their systems. She thinks that with technology advancing this will only cause more problems for security. She also agrees that this problem resides in both business and personal life.

#3: Becca 22, Female

After speaking with Becca, she has never had an expiree personally with getting hacked or having personal information stolen from any of her devices. She has informed though that she takes drastic measure by updating her security software and other precautions to keep her devices virus free. She still says that there is a strong opportunity for this though with technology on the up and coming.

#4: Connor 19, Male

After speaking with Connor, he has personally had someone wire themselves 1,000$ to their own bank account by simply hacking his phone. Once he hacks his phone, he said the guy was in full control of his bank account and many other personally items. Connor did not like this feeling at all and took measure to ensure this would never happen again. This shows the opportunity for even young individuals.

#5 Ryan 44, Male

My dad works for a IT company where he’s says they have to spend so much a year just keeping all of their data safe and out of the hands of hackers. He also informed that many companies have lost millions of dollars due to a poor security software system. With that being he said he informed that there is great opportunity to make a software that can’t get hacked it will do nothing but save money and hassles.

Reflection

After interviewing this group of people of a pretty diverse but mainly college group of kids, I realized this problem in their life. With technology also advancing in a rapid state it makes it more prone for our technology devices to be hacked.
